Traditional country living.

Newbridge Farm Cottages provide an ideal retreat for couples and families looking for the peace and tranquility of traditional country living.

About Us

John and Eirian Williams started running Newbridge Farm Cottages as self-catering accommodation ten years ago, when they decided to combine their passion for faming and the outdoors with their desire to share their beautiful surroundings with other people. The couple love welcoming guests to the holiday cottages and opening up their farm and their own special slice of the Welsh countryside to visitors.

Newbridge holds special memories for John, who grew up on the farm and has farmed it as a beef, sheep and dairy farm all his adult life. Eirian also developed a love for the Welsh countryside early on: she grew up in rural Wales, and has lived at Newbridge for the last 25 years. Between them, the couple have a wealth of knowledge about the local area, and can offer guests advice and information on things to do, places to visit and eating out. They also both enjoy walking, and are more than happy to give guests information about scenic walking routes in the area.

Farming at Newbridge keeps John and Eirian busy, but they are more than willing to spend time showing guests around who want a taste of the farming lifestyle. The farm has a 120-strong milking herd of cows, plus a beef herd and a flock of sheep, so there is always plenty to do. Milking takes place twice daily and can be watched from the holiday cottages’ viewing balcony. Each spring time, new lambs are born at Newbridge, followed by calves later in the year, so self-catering guests at these times can help feed and look after the newborn animals. The site is also home to two kune kune pigs.

As well as the farm animals, self-catering guests may be able to spot a variety of bird species as well as fish. In fact, the site is an absolute must for any keen fisher: the rivers Vyrnwy and Banwy, which flow through the farmland, are renowned for fishing, with wild river trout, salmon and chub to be caught. Combined with the site’s scenic and tranquil location, the fantastic fishing on offer makes the holiday cottages the perfect choice for a fantastic self-catering fishing break.
